Architecturally designed residential renovation

Loftus St, Leichhardt

Project : The rear rooms of this substantial Federation house blocked off all meaningful access to the rear garden. Furthermore, half the rear yard was taken up by a large, imposing asbestos shed.

The ground floor was extended around 1 m in length whilst using as many of the existing brick walls as possible. A full width Kitchen, Dining and Living space was opened up with full width Bi-folding doors to the garden. The previous bathrooms and Laundry were then shunted into the middle of the house. A new first floor attic was fashioned into the roof space, not visible from the street. A new shed / studio replaced the existing shed and the garden enhanced.
